I very much doubt her negotiating skills are going to work on some psychopath who has decided that her body belongs to him and he intends to do whatever he wants with it without consequences. What is she gonna say? What is she going to bargain with? What kind of deal can she make to the one person holding all the cards in that scenario? I think she may have been scared of the question and her answer was meant to make her feel better. I hear that kind of answer (well, here's what I would've done!) from people who victim blame.
