I think you're correct. When people like you make this comparison, people love to trot out that other nations were warlike too, but the point is not that Indigenous nations didn't war among themselves.

Indigenous people did fight each other , but primarily kept it among themselves. They didn't decide to make a global effort out of it, after exhausting themselves for 500 years fighting each other.
