I think the two groups arose along separate trajectories but the internet allowed to two to wander into one another’s orbit and then just glom onto each other like the blob! I’d been following the rise of the Right, on separate websites from the Manosphere and it is only in the last four years that I’ve started seeing a lot more overlap, so migration is probably the best word for it.
