I think the reason why we are being excoriated to work more and more and more, is solely to keep us busy and tired. If we're too busy and tired from working, than we don't have the energy to agitate for better lives or a redress of social grievances. You see what happened with BLM, during the shut down, when people had free time on their hands to pay attention to injustice. its mighty funny that after all that happened a convenient movement sprang up that insisted we all go back to work in the middle of a pandemic. So we did, and the social unrest died down (which was probably the point) because people are once again too damn busy to care!
