I think I get what you're saying here. That if we can get more sympathetic depictions of us in Horror movies, that will encourage more empathy for us in the real world. For me, this is yet another reason why Black filmmakers are so important. We really need to be able to control our own images, rather than begging White men to get our images right, or having everyone rely on their second and/or third hand knowledge.
