I stopped paying any amount of attention to Bill Maher, a long time ago, after I realized how Islamaphobic he was, and would argue that it was entirely justifiable for him to be so. Of course he’s a covert racist. He’s a covert many things.

Maher is the kind of liberal that will argue about the need for trans rights on one hand, and on the other, still thinks it’s okay to tell transphobic jokes, because he thinks the two are unrelated.
