I saw this in the case of Kamala Harris with these stories from out of nowhere about the men she dated before she was married and the not so subtle implications that she was a "slut", who slept her way into power.

I know enough to look for this kind of thing in politics though, which is why I go look up the candidates history and at their own websites to get at least some idea of who they might be.

I wasn't looking for it among celebrities because I don't pay much attention to their lives, until I saw what happened to Amber Heard and started asking myself some deeper questions about it.
