I once had the most frustrating conversation I've ever had with a friend of mine, when I expressed the hope that trump would die before the election, and not only eliminate a world of problems by doing so, but also make the world a better place. She decided to use that as an opportunity to talk about how she doesn't like to let such negative thoughts in her mind, which just made me want to transfer my anger to her and slap the lips off her face, because it was spoken as someone who was almost entirely unaffected by any of the things he did in office!
She is straight, white, cisgender, and middle class, and paid more attention to her stock portfolio than politics, which isnt a bad thing, but her ignorance about the things he did doesn't make her a better person.
I wanted to tell her that me wishing him dead isnt a negative thought. After all the trauma he caused me, and millions of other people, its a thought that makes me (and many others) extremely happy. So happy that I daydream about it at least once a week. Hoping for vile people to step off this mortal coil is not a negative thing for me. In fact, it's very cathartic.
