I like this writer a lot but I still think this is a bit of a reach and they misjudged it this time. This is not an oppression competition and I don't think what happened with Dave Chappelle is quite the same thing going on here.

I also don't think the writer is aware of how Will Smith has a reputation for being affable and good natured which has caused more than a few people to think its okay to disrespect him and his family in public. There is a very looong history of public personas openly disrespecting Will and his family that's been going on for the last 3 decades.

But Imma let this stand because I do like this writer and I know transgender people gonna feel some type of way about seeing that event.
