I haven’t lost hope on this either. I think some of the reasons why we haven’t seen public officials be accounted for yet, isn’t just because they haven’t gotten to them yet, but because they need to build their cases as well, and that takes time. Our Justice system is not instantaneous. Investigations and charges take time. Right now they’re working on catching the little fish, which helps them build up to catching the bigger ones. That’s how these things work, and most Americans don’t understand that. (Compare this to how they took down organized crime syndicates in the US, it took many years of buildup to it.)
Those doing the accounting also want to be thorough and not allow any wiggle room for more powerful people to slip free. When they come for the big dogs, they need to have everything dotted and crossed correctly. Also forewarned is fore-armed, and if we, the public, know a thing, then so do the people they’re investigating. I understand why little news is coming out of the DOJ. They want to keep a lot of information close to the vest in order not to warn the people they’ll be investigating.
