I have long rejected the idea of looking behaving ultra feminine with the intention of attracting male attention. I opted out of playing that horrible game after witnessing the Black girls around me seemingly lose their sanity over trying to attract men. Black women often have to over-perform femininity to be called “beautiful” and I refuse to go that route.

I accept whatever I look like. I wear my natural hair, don’t wear makeup, dresses, or even heels. Not because I don’t think any women should like those things, just none of those things suit me, or are reflections of who I am, or what I care about. I guess people would call that gender-nonconforming today. If I dress feminine at any particular time it’s because it makes me feel good to do it, never to draw attention from others.

I’m gonna watch the video. This sounds like an interesting ideology although I don’t know what kind of legs it will have.
