I hate to say this, but I predict the next moral panic will probably be about Indigenous and Native groups, and I feel certain that justly Ike always their excuse will be the protection of women, children, and/or American culture.

When they’re done victimizing transgender men and women, or when lgbtq groups have coelesced to the point where they’re no longer so easy to attack, they’ll move on to the next smallest group that has become more visible but hasn’t quite yet amassed enough political and social power to successfully push back against them. This isn’t a hard and fast rule because they could pick another lgbtq subgroup like asexuals, or they could choose atheists, but it is Indigenous people who are becoming just a little more visible regarding representation, so they could be next.

Indigenous groups are becoming more prominent in the media, and politics. This is bound to attract attention. And just as they have in the past, they’ll move on to this other group while acting like the last moral panic never occurred.
