I had not realized just how much I hated the stereotype of the "Adultified" Black child, until I saw Abbot Elementary. That show is so wholesome without being Disneyfied. I see why it won so many awards.

That trope was funny the first time I saw it in a movie (back in the 90s) but it's aged very badly since then hand might have more than a little to do with white people's "adultification" of Black children.
