I don't understand referring to oneself by the name of a product one only likes. I never refer to myself as a Trekker, or a Fannibal, or any other fan name because I don't define myself by a product created by someone else, and which I only enjoy.

I'm a painter, a writer, a knitter. These are things I do, on my own time, in my own way. I refuse to call myself by a nickname of a product I consume, and I don't understand those who do.

One o f the reasons people cease to care about pop culture as they get older is because n a fundamental level they realize how meaningless all of it is, and it's just too exhausting to try to keep up if you've been on this planet a few decades.
