I don't think white people have taken into account just how often this occurred in the US, and certainly immigrants who adopt white bigots attitudes towards us when they get here, don't know how often black success and wealth has been sabotaged by even our own government, by people who wanted to be absolutely certain we couldn't succeed in this country. I wish more people knew and understood this history.
