I don't think it will be that! Gilead is a work of fiction built on the idea that the things that happened to Black women during slavery happening to white women. Gilead is a work of fiction written by a white woman who did not take into account that Black and other women of color (Indigenous, and Asian specifically) already went through all that, and this country has a very looong history of (at least Black people do) resistance to oppression.

Whatever happens in this country, it ain't gonna be like Gilead.

White men (about the only ones who think like that) can try it, and that may even happen to some small degree but what they're going to end up doing is f*cking around and finding out.
