I don't consider myself a "survivalist" type, but even I could tell that is waaay too much sh*t to be huffing around in the wilderness! Its certainly more than Id be willing or able to carry, since I'm disabled. (Quite frankly, if I could get away with it I'd eschew the tent as well, and try to make shelter from whatever is near me.)
