I don't care what anyone says about living in an information silo. F*** that noise. If I need to know about it, the news will find its way to me, but for my own peace of mind, I'm divesting entirely from mainstream news.

I prefer to get my news second hand (from sources I've trusted not to be panicky, hyperbolic, and are grounded and stable, like Beau of the Fifth Column, for example), because I refuse to be constantly subjected to the sight of trumps puckered up old mouth every time I need to know what's happening in the world. I don't care what he has to say about anything, since he ain't saying new sh** and only ever lies, anyway. I don't need to be subjected to his mental chaos and disrespect every day.

I've learned from the last time he was in office, and Im not doing any of what I did before. I've already culled and curated my only two social media feeds. I'm also re-upping my donations to the ACLU which I let lapse (and I shouldn't have).
