I do see a difference from what happened before, though! White people truly didn’t care when all these things happened before. Black men would be lynched and white people would hold picnics, and take photos, and souvenirs. Now, when a black man gets lynched, they hold nation wide protests, and burn down the police stations! But you’re right. We cannot go back to who we were before. Too many people have shown us their true faces, and we know what’s under their skin now. It’s hard to go back once you’ve seen someone’s real face, as now we’ve seen, for a certainty, that there is a subset of the American people that not only do not care about the rest of humanity, they’re very proud of it…
