I do get it. I understand how and wqhy some films get made and others don't but still. They had multiple Japanese women in the movie any of whom could have played the lead character, which was also really frustrating to watch.

Rila Fukushima (who actually stars in the movie) would have been an excellent choice (although this was before Crazy Rich Asians and Shang Chi, back in the days when Hollywood just openly hated on Asian actors.)
