I came to this conclusion through observing pop culture, and the kinds of stories white people tell about themselves, their pasts, and futures.

It was a real revelation to notice that almost all their stories of the future still heavily featured white people as the primary characters, experiencing the dystopias they once visited on other groups of people. It was sad, but fascinating, too.
