I appreciate your honesty (and your observations.) I have noticed that too. People slot me into a certain box becasue they don't consider that I may have had some very interesting life experiences. When they find out I'm not what they thought I was some of them (not all since some of them understand that I had a life before I met them) act nonplussed or get passive-aggressive.

I was not supposed to have done interesting things in life, I guess. As I told a friend of mine, a lot of white people walk into interactions with Black people with nothing but a head full of stereotypes, and some of them have written the story of my life without having exchanged a single word with me.
