I agree. They've never taught actual Black history anyway! I learned about Malcolm X at home. My mother told me about the 60s and 70s she grew up in. She taught me about Black Wall Street, and we watched certain movies together and discussed them. Through her I learned about "passing" and people being biracial, and military desegregation.
We need to form coalitions and special schools just like we did before when they would not allow us into their schools. When we form our own organizations (crowd funding them if we have to) we can put emphasis on the things we KNOW are important. As long as we keep trying to integrate into white culture, (although I recognize that sometimes we have no choice in the matter) we will keep having to go begging to white people to be decent, logical, intelligent, and treat us like Americans. We need to stop putting our knowledge in their hands.
I'm tired of begging and waiting for white people to act like decent human beings.
