I agree. There are a few smaller YouTubers who have noticed it and said something. I just watched an essay a couple of days ago, and they brought it up, but I've found that white male YouTubers with the biggest platforms rarely, if ever, discuss movies with any amount of substance. They don't really have any literary analysis or thematic insights to share, which is what I'm often looking for. If I wanted surface level reviews I could get that from anybody. When I want a more technical point of view I go to filmmakers channels.
I've found that when I want really interesting points of view, depth, analysis, new insight on something I've already watched, it's best to make the search for women and members of the gay community, and Black men and women who do film analysis are so rare I can count them on just the two hands.
