Heres where I'm going need people to talk about this idea in a more detailed and nuanced fashion, because I've gotten really tired of how White people are discussing this issue, and being constantly harangued about living in an information echo chamber, when it's only one side that's doing that.

The people being hyper polarized are white people. People from marginalized communities have not the luxury of living in information silos that affirm our world views about ourselves. It's a matter of survival for us to know what the other political sides are thinking, so we are always being subjected to worldviews we don't share, even in places we try to make safe for ourselves to avoid the trauma of being subjected to those views, and when we don't want to be.

What I keep getting from these arguments is that I need to subject myself to the constant messaging that I'm worthless for a variety of reasons.

Every day it's a brand new reason why I'm not worth shit as a person, and not only do I get tired of listenig to it, Im tired of being told I need to, when not doing so was never an option, by people who have the privilege of not having to know what's being said about my communities, because it doesn't directly affect their lives.
