Hell, I’m not even Irish (I’m Black) and I was offended by some of that! But then, unlike the British woman you mentioned, I actually know something about Irish history (because of paying attention to the rest of the world, rather than just my little corner of it.)

So yeah, I call BS, on that. Irish people do, in fact, get offended, and well they should.
