He refuses to believe that there are people out there who are going to treat his partner differently on the basis of her being brown, visibly Asian, and a woman, and not all those people are gonna be MAGA.

People are going to say things to her that he is never going to get asked, and probably won't even notice. They're going to do things to her they won't do to him and it won't always be openly, in their face, racist. A lot of it is real subtle things to make her feel uncomfortable, and a lot of it is going to happen when he isn't around, in normal places like the post office, the grocery store, etc.

She isn't going to be treated the same as him and there are going to be people who are going to denigrate her, ask her "funny" questions they would never ask him, and question how American she is, and how good her English is, solely on the basis of what she looks like, and a lot of those people are going to claim they aren't being racist when they do that.
