We also need to see diversity not just in the writing rooms and behind the camera, but in the industries surrounding the visual entertainment industry, like costuming, hair and makeup, stuntwork, film criticism, and casting agencies, and all the other peripheral businesses that make film and tv series possible.

We can’t get good action movies, for example, if we have no black stunt people (especially women), we cannot get good historical representation, if we don’t have any people who can work with black hair and makeup properly, and we can’t get good, well thought out, criticism, from people who understand, from a socio-historical perspective, what they just watched.

We need representation of PoC at every level.
