Fandom has also observed the whitening of a cast in other shows. The gradual jettisoning of black characters for either white actors, or light skinned PoC for a series. This was most evidently seen in the Teen Wolf and Sleepy Hollow series over time, with the creators just writing it’s black characters out of the stories. I think the last straw with American Gods was bringing in a white showrunner who made it very clear that he cared not one bit about the characters that had brought the show it’s black fanbase!
