Conservatism itself is a philosophy of passivity. It requires that a person do nothing, and simply accept the status quo. Change is anathema, and if any action of any is ever required, then one only needs to persevere in standing still, in not moving. And it’s not enough that the individual remain still, all of society must remain standing in the same spot with them.
