Black women are considered so ugly and unloveable that we are often not even considered women. People will deliberately misgender cisgender Black women because they hate us and think it’s an insult. (I’m a black cisgender woman and I cannot even fathom what it must be like to actually be a transgender black woman being used as the standard of ugliness!) I remember when people were deliberately misgendering the First Lady because they thought it was funny. When white women talk about women’s representation in certain industries they think so little of us that were not even considered a representation of womanhood according to their idea of it.
