Because contrary to what white people like to tell themselves, Black people do not throw that word around as lightly as they think we do. A certain amount of thought goes into it before we throw that word at someone. And most of us do not derive glee out of doing it, especially if it's someone we know or are close to. We know that if whatever we said is badly received, the repercussions will fall on us, never the accused.
