As one of my favorite YouTubers loves to say: Representation is Normalization.

The less mysterious and more familiar transgender men and women become the more mainstream and utterly mundane it will become. Part of the reason transgender people were chosen for attack is because they are a minority within a minority, their lack of visibility, and because people simply don’t know a whole lot about them. It then becomes a lot easier to make up narratives about who they are and what they represent.

Hopefully, just like in our Star Trek future, it will become no big whoop to be transgender.
