And this is the reason I can trust no white person, even my closest friends with determining my safety in any situation. Many of them, no matter how well meaning, have no ability to determine when other white people are dangerous, (whether physical, or not) not just to me, but even to themselves. They’re too quick to dismiss their instincts or give white men the benefit of the doubt, and I simply can’t rely on, even the ones who know and like me, to know someone is dangerous for me to be around.
