And this is exactly the reason that white men in positions of power SHOULD NEVER be allowed to define what is racist and what isn’t! They will always define it in such a way as to absolve them of participation in racist behavior! With such attitudes I feel absolutely certain that their behavior towards their BIPOC constituents was probably subpar, even if it was done unconsciously. It is not possible to hold those types of feelings about people of color and still do their job towards them to the best of their ability!
