And I absolutely do not appreciate when white people who have never experienced racism try to gaslight me, not just about the experience itself, but my perception about what happened.
Acting as if they know more about my life experiences than I do and questioning whether or not I actually went through what I went through.
Far too many white people are more concerned with excusing other white people's racist behavior than they are in empathizing with me. I feel like the bar is pretty low. I don't require that white people act a fool on my behalf but showing a lack of empathy for my life experiences is as much a dealbreaker for me as it is for them. We cannot be friends.
