Americans are some of the most paranoid people about tech. It's interesting to me for example that the Japanese have access to the same level of tech as the rest of the world but are seemingly the least paranoid about its everyday use. Americans are, after decades of being told that tech wants to destroy us, replace us, kill us off, and take our jobs, are now extremely paranoid about its existence, and it's funny to me that the Japanese have the exact opposite response to it, and think of tech and AI as helpful and an aid to humanity. (Someone wrote an article about this in some film magazine I read. )
