All of you keep throwing these words around like American and Evangelical, but what you need to clearly delineate here is that you mean “white” before these terms. Black and other Evangelical churches are not perfect, in fact some of them have the same problems as the churches you are in now, but they do not have a trump or MAGA problem. Jesus is still Jesus in the black church and although I’ve been seen a bit of handwringing from white Evangelicals, none of them seem to understand this, or speak of going to a church where Jesus is still worshipped as Jesus.
Those of you seeking new homes could find them in the Black church but none of you ever stop to think of this. You all seem to have tremendous Blindspot too, preferring to eliminate Jesus from your life entirely, rather than try to find a home that’s more truthful for you. Many of you who are searching would be welcome in such churches but,and help heal the divide between the segregation of churches on Sundays in America.
I have to ask though, why this has not occurred to any of you? And what are you afraid of?
