All good points.

I can appreciate these people's care and what they're trying to do but I wish they understood that:

"There is no ethical consumption under Capitalism."

Somebody, something, somewhere, is going to be harmed and exploited. They cannot consume or buy their way out of harming others. (They can barely get harm reduction.)
